PRESENTATION OF AWARDSA. Mr. Ron Messa, Assistant Chief, Voluntary Service, presented thirty-six Certificates of Appreciation for 100 Hours.
B. Mr. Thomas Marschner, Chief, Recreation Section, presented eighteen Certificates of Merit for 300 Hours.
C. Rabbi Abraham Sheingold, Acting Chief, Chaplain Service, presented seventeen Certificates of Outstanding Service for 500 Hours.
D. Mr. Ray Rodgers, Chief, Building Management Service presented sixteen Certificates of Excellence for 750 Hours.
E. Mr. Hugh McGeowan, R.N., Chief, Nursing Service, presented fifteen Devotion to Volunteer Duty, 1,000 Hour Pins.
F. Naren Shah, M.D., Acting Chief of Staff, presented forty-eight Certificates of Hours and Years of Service.
G. Mr. R. Vincent Crawford, Associate Director, presented seven V.A. Bronze Pins for 1,750 Hours; four V.A. Silver Pins for 2,500 Hours; and one V.A. Gold Pin for 5,000 Hours.
H. Mr. Hugh M. Ferguson, Jr., Acting Director, presented one V.A. Plaque, Dedicated Service Award for 7,500 Hours and one V.A. Silver Bowl Honor Award for 10,000 Hours.
I. Top honor this year was the presenting of the Administrator's Award for Voluntary Service to Genevieve Riis, American War Mothers by our Acting Directory. Genevieve "Ma" Riis, has 34 continuous years as a volunteer and 21,150 hours. She personally raised several thousands of dollars to finance her ward parties and picnics and last year was presented with an award as the Outstanding Volunteer of the Year by N.Y.S. Recreational Professional Society.

The meeting and awards ceremony concluded at 2:30 p.m. The next meeting of the VAVS Advisory Committee will be on Monday, September 24, 1984 at 7:30 p.m. in the Social Hall, Building 25.
