Omission: Association of War Mothers

In our roundup of service organizations Sept. 22, we inadvertently omitted the Association of War Mothers. Its President is Genevieve Riis (835-0510), known as "Ma" to thousands of disabled war veterans from the F.D.R hospital. She is shown receiving a service award from Joseph F. Heavey, Asst. Director of the hospital, for giving more than 15,000 hours over 32 years. Several Harrison organizations annually give Mrs. Riis money to entertain the vets both at the hospital and in Silver Lake Park.Description
