Food and Beverage Policy – Inactive
The Harrison Public Library strives to create a welcoming, clean, and comfortable environment for all to enjoy. Consistent with this goal, consumption of some light snacks and drinks is permitted on a limited basis and must be done in a considerate and responsible manner.
Light snacks and drinks may be consumed in areas of the Library that are not designated FoodFree. These areas should be left as the patron found them. Trash must be disposed of in the provided receptacles. Spills must be reported to the staff immediately.
Examples of light snacks include pretzels, granola or energy bars, dry cereal, vegetables, and fruits. Sandwiches or other foods such as soup or pizza, aromatic edibles, or multi-course meals are not permitted.
Drinks brought into the Library must have covers or caps. No alcoholic beverages are permitted except at certain events with the specific approval of the Library Board of Trustees.
NO FOOD OR DRINKS are permitted in the following Food-Free Zones:
- Computer areas (e.g. the Technology Center and around Adult, Teen, and Children’s computers)
- Business machine areas (e.g. around photocopiers, printers, microfilm readers, and selfchecking machines)
