Online: Civil War Book Club
I'm sorry if you missed it, but this event already took place.
The Harrison Public Library is launching a monthly Civil War Book Club featuring biographies of luminaries like Lincoln and U.S. Grant, broader histories of the conflict, and historical fiction. The first program, on Thursday, 2/18 at 3:00, hosted by Bob Huerster, will be a discussion of The Killer Angels by Michael Shaara, a classic historical novel about the battle of Gettysburg that won the Pulitzer Prize in 1975. The book was also made into a film called Gettysburg in 1993.
Copies of the novel and the film will be available for curbside pick up from the Harrison Library, 2 Bruce Avenue in Harrison (914-835-0324), and the West Harrison Branch, 2 Madison Street, West Harrison (914-948-2092). Please call in advance to schedule your pick up.
