Riding with the Outlaws is a 105-minute lecture/concert (two parts music to one part talk) about the Outlaw Country movement of the 1970s and 1980s. It's a dramatic story, focusing on the civil war between the pop-driven Nashville Sound and the old-school artists who led Outlaw Country.
Tennessee Walt will perform his repertoire for Riding with the Outlaws, an all-new concert of songs by iconic outlaws Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Waylon Jennings, Kris Kristofferson and Willie Nelson, as well as lesser-known artists such as Guy Clark, Jessi Colter, Tompall Glaser, Billy Joe Shaver and Tanya Tucker. Walt sings the outlaws’ biggest hits and some lesser-known gems, while looking at the roots of the outlaw movement, the behind-the-scenes story of its success and its enduring influence on today’s country.
