Special Education Workshop

Presented by Monica Mandell, this workshop will address all issues related to Special Education, such as what it means, who it benefits, what do parents need to know about the process, how does the process start and what do all the evaluations and meetings mean.

Monica L. Mandell, LMSW is a licensed bilingual social worker and has been working with families and children since 1996. Ms. Mandell has extensive experience in helping families obtain services with Early Intervention, the Committee on Preschool Education and with the Committee on Special Education. Ms. Mandell has substantial training in educational law which has resulted in helping families effectively navigate the educational system. Due to her understanding and expertise, Ms. Mandell's knowledge of both Federal and New York State Educational law has enabled families to better understand the special education process, evaluations, what is an Individualized Educational Plan and how services will be delivered.
